You probably watched the news coverage of Hurricane Sandy, so you know that it tore up the East Coast two days before Halloween. Our entire town in New Jersey lost power and a big part of our tree fell off and landed on our lawn and driveway. Our governor cancelled trick-or-treating, and school was cancelled for the whole week, and my mom needed power and Internet, so she decided to take us to the Great Wolf Lodge in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. We packed our stuff and headed into the car. Seven other families from our town went there too. It was a whole lot better in the water park, playing Magiquest, bowling, and mini-golf than it was at home just sitting indoors and looking out the window. We stayed two nights but then left because other families from New Jersey needed to have their turn getting power, heat, and Internet. When we got home, it was one of the rare times when it’s not good to be home because we still had no power. Lucky for us, the power finally came on today, so I could write this.
